Southern California was home for Dr. Dean Duncan until he left after high school to pursue dentistry in the Bay Area. He gained a remarkable amount of experience throughout his educational career and was eager to provide exceptional oral surgery services to the lives of others. He originally established this oral surgery practice on July 1, 1980, in the West Portal district of San Francisco.
Dr. Duncan believes that every patient deserves outstanding care every time, which is why he strives to create a welcoming, dynamic environment for both his patients and his staff. He believes in being open with his patients and wants them to know that when they come to this practice, they are in excellent hands.
Dr. Duncan earned a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from California Polytechnic State University. He then entered the University of Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. He completed a one-year general practice residency at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Topeka, Kansas, before moving back to Southern California to begin his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Long Beach V.A. and UC Irvine Medical Centers.

When he’s not at work, Dr. Duncan enjoys spending time with his wife. He has two grown children and is an avid sports enthusiast who enjoys golfing, downhill skiing, and yoga.
