Richard Robert, DDS, MS

Patients present a great need for our services. It’s rewarding to satisfy those needs through a positive experience that benefits their lives.

Meet Dr. Robert

Dr. Richard Robert is originally from Atlanta, Georgia, and became an oral surgeon because of his interests in both surgery and medicine. Reconstructive surgery allows him to exert creativity while producing life-changing results for patients. After dental school, he began his service tour at the Letterman Army Institute of Research in San Francisco, where he conducted bone graft research to determine improved methods for reconstructing jaw injuries caused by trauma or pathology.

He began his career as a part-time educator at Mount Zion Hospital in San Francisco and as a part-time private practitioner. Following over three decades in his own private practice in South San Francisco, he merged with 7x7 Dental Implant & Oral Surgery Specialists, where his colleagues share a practice philosophy centered on patient care.

In addition, he has continued to teach at UCSF where he directs the training of the oral and maxillofacial surgery residents in office-based anesthesia and shares with the residents his vast experience in orthognathic reconstructive surgery. He teaches courses in oral surgery and basic sciences to pre-doctoral students and residents from other dental specialties including periodontics, endodontics, and prosthodontics. His teaching activities have been accompanied by contributions to the oral and maxillofacial surgery literature with journal articles and book chapters.

Patients can sometimes feel intimidated in a surgical environment and worry about pain. Dr. Robert approaches nervous patients as a coach to guide and support them through treatment. It is his goal to be considered as a friend and create a positive surgical experience that patients can look back on and feel great about.
